Today we have Linda Priaulx here with Continuum. She’s the outreach manager for the Continuum Private Duty Home Care. Linda shares “Why we are different than other private duty companies.”
When she started 11 years ago with Continuum, Barth, the owner, said we are a professional care management organization. Meaning that we have social workers, nurses, and care managers who are on the front end. Talking to possibly a family or talking to another professional. and then taking that information which, we understand, because we are professional. Then figuring out what problem we’re trying to solve within our family of services. That’s one way we are different than other private duty companies.
The other way we are different is we have a management team that’s assigned to each client and the goal of that management team is to take all those moving parts pieces and produce a quality experience for our clients. They are assigned their own caregiver and care coordinator. A care coordinator works with client work with the schedule to make sure they’re receiving the care that they have asked from us. If there’s difficulties in communication then we have a supervisor manager who can go out into the home and offer additional training or to talk with the client and the caregiver and smooth things over.
How do you match your clients with the right caregiver?
We offer a free no obligation to visit. The client can meet the staff who’s going to have some input on the care that is going to be provided. Then while we’re there in the home we to have a scripted assessment that we’re working from so we’re going to be asking very specific questions.
