Program Description: The Stanley M. Isaacs Senior Center provides a broad range of programs to low and moderate income residents of Yorkville, East Harlem and throughout New York City. Breakfast and lunch are served on weekdays. Lunch is served on Saturday and daily afternoon snacks are provided. Activities and services include: Social groups, committees, leadership and volunteer opportunities; lectures, crafts, games, parties, celebrations, and trips; Music therapy, sing-a-longs, and concerts; Social services assistance, supportive counseling, and referrals; Health screenings and medical referrals through VNS (Visiting Nurse Services of New York), Weill Cornell Medical Center, North General Hospital and others; Psychiatric social work through S.P.O.P. (New York Service Program for Older People); Legal services through V.O.L.S. (Volunteers Of Legal Service); and East Side Elder Abuse Prevention Project (ESEAPP).
