Program Description: Raices Corona Senior Center provides members with information, education, services and programs that will help them in a positive, healthy and enjoyable way. The Raices Corona Senior CenterÆs bilingual staff provides culturally competent services in English and Spanish. Activities include: Bingo, Card Games Citizenship Classes, Daily Nutritional Balanced Meals, Dancing, English as a Second Language (ôESLö) Classes, Exercise Programs, Health Screenings, Cholesterol-Sugar testing, Blood Pressure, Nutrition Education Presentations, Rent Tax Credit (IT214), and School Tax Credit (IT210) Preparation.á Group discussions on Health, Nutrition, Books, Current events, Films, and many other subjects.á
Raices Corona Senior Center provides case assistance, information on benefits and entitlements in Medicaid-Medicare and Medicare Part D, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security (SSA), Medical Insurance Counseling, Food Stamps, Senior Housing Issues, Senior Citizens Rent Increase Exemption Program (SCRIE), Disabled Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE), Home Owners Tax Abatement Programs, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).
Guest speakers visit and share, inform and educate the members on updated information concerning Health Care, Elder Abuse, Crime Prevention, Sanitation, Fire and Police, and many additional issues.
Raices Corona Senior Center began the Raices Healthy and Secure Computing Training Program in a new and modern computer lab setting in September, 2011. This site also offers transportation services
